Iraq And The Bible
Album: MIXED EMOTIONS Playing Iraq And The Bible Singer & Songwriter Lee Holloway Or Just Listen To Some More Great Music Sleeping Double In A Single Bed
I'm no biblical scholar you see... But there are things about Iraq that fascinates me... Listen to me now, I'll tell you some things you probably don't know... We've not been in Iraq just for show.
Let me quote for you from the Islamic Bible, the Koran... I hope you will understand... This reading will come from chapter nine verse eleven... Now is this a message from God in Heaven?
For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah: and there was peace.
Study your history and you can find in Iraq there was the Garden of Eden... Adam and Eve was there even then... It was in Iraq Noah built the ark... Noah was not fleeing from a great shark.
In Iraq was the Tower of Babel... No signs of weakness to tell or label... In Southern Iraq there was Abraham from Ur... This man didn't stumble or fall from any slur.
Rebekah, the wife of Issac was from Iraq, the community of Nahor... A lovely lady for Issac to love and to keep her love to adore... Iraq was the place where Jacob met Rachel... A love he always wanted to show and tell and she was able.
The cradle of civilization formed in Iraq, in a place called Mesopotamia... Was this a plan or just a phenomena of the day?... In Iraq we find where Jonah preached in Nineveh... Yes, spreading God's word was common in the days of old even so the God of Allah.
The ten tribes of Israel was conquered in Iraq by Assyria... No one would have realized the power of the era... In Iraq we find where Daniel spent time in the lion's den... God was his protector even then.
In Iraq we find where the three Hebrew children were in a fire... Jesus was also there in His Heavenly attire... In Iraq we find it was a place Ezekiel and Peter did preach... Iraq was the home of the wise men whose faith was their outreach.
Babylon, a city in Iraq described as the Empire of Man... A place where God had placed His hand... It was in Iraq where Belshazzar, King of Babylon saw the writing on the wall... This King was always trying to stand tall.
The word Iraq is not used in the Holy Bible as we can verify... The names used are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia: you can't change land locations even if you try. The location of Iraq is mentioned second only to Israel in the Holy Scriptures... We find the true meaning of Iraq is a country with deep roots and holy features.
