Lyrics to: Brother Louie's Intruder
In this little church in the mountains Believers came to drink from God’s beautiful fountains The evening was warm and the wind was brisk The deliverance of the Word this night was at risk.
Brother Louie from his pulpit, he did say, On this night our sins are in our way For all of this world is open for us to see, Without His word to hear, the Lord cannot be.
The doors and windows were open to feel the breeze, For in these mountains it was too early for a freeze. Then this intruder came flying through the door, All of the believers were frightened and they hit the floor.
Not knowing what this creature was all about, That’s when all the believers on the floor began to shout. Then Brother Louie from the closet he did retrieve a broom, Once and for all he wanted to clear this creature from this Holy Room.
As the creature would dive at the Brother, he would swing, For the life of him he could not hit this flying thing. Motorists saw this brother from his pulpit swinging this broom, They stopped and peeked from the windows into this Holy room.
Brother Louie realized this was a bat, All of the believers were on the floor squeezing their hat. Brother Louie said to himself, Ole Buddy, this is your last time around, For this time I’m going to knock you down.
The believers were shouting OH Lord, save us from this evil thing, For they didn’t know what it was, nor could they sing. Then Brother Louie decided to take his stand, Hoping a hit on that bat he could land.
Sister Louise was on the floor crying, OH, Lord, I’m coming home for I am dying. Then the bat made a wrong move, Brother Louie made a hit, Slammed that bat right into the bosom of Ms Louise Whitt.
The bat was dead and calmness did loom, But Ms Louise Whitt had to be taken to the bathroom.
